A study space that fits you.
Vexto started with a simple frustration: most study timers and clocks are ugly, rigid, and easy to abandon the moment a notification pops up. We wanted a clock that feels good to look at for hours, and a focus mode with real teeth.
It is a desktop app that turns your screen into a calm, personal study area. You choose the colours, the clock, the glow and the slow-moving light rays. When it is time to work, you start a focus session, and the apps you chose to lock stay out of reach until your time is up.
Features
Huge, modern clock
Choose from several fonts, set the size, colours, gradient and glow, and show seconds, the date and AM/PM exactly how you like.
Floating light rays
Slow, thin diagonal rays on any edge of the screen. Pick Ocean, Emerald, Crimson or your own colours, and tune length, count, thickness and speed.
Liquid glass interface
A translucent, modern settings panel with smooth animations that stays out of the way until you need it.
Focus mode with app lock
Pick apps from your installed programs. During a session Vexto closes them and keeps them closed until the timer ends.
Locked in, with a safety valve
The window cannot be closed during a session, but an emergency exit (hold for 10 seconds) means a bug can never trap you.
True fullscreen
Press F11 or F and the clock scales to your display without growing or lagging. Built to run all day.
Mobile companion (coming)
Link your phone with a QR code so your whole study setup stays in sync. Your Vexto account is what makes this possible.
Everything customisable
Backgrounds, gradients, animated backgrounds, fonts, colours, timers. Your settings are saved on your own device.
How focus mode works
- Pick your distractions. Open the app chooser, search your installed apps, and tick the ones you want locked.
- Set your minutes. Use the slider or the quick buttons in Settings, then start your session.
- Stay in. The chosen apps are closed and kept closed. The Vexto window can't be closed until the timer ends.
- Done. A chime plays, the apps are released and you get a well-earned break.
Your control, always
Locking works on your own computer, under your own rules. Vexto never reads your screen, never records what you type and never sends your locked-app list anywhere. Starting a session shows you exactly which apps will be closed first, and an emergency exit is always available in Settings.
Install VextoQuestions
Is Vexto free?
Yes. You need a free account to reach the install page, and that same account will link your phone when the mobile companion arrives.
Which systems are supported?
The current installer is for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). The app is built to be cross-platform, and other systems will follow.
Why do I need an account?
Accounts let us keep downloads for registered users, announce updates and downtime, and will power QR linking between your computer and phone.
Will Vexto close things I haven't chosen?
No. Only the apps you tick in the chooser are closed, and critical system processes can never be selected. Save your work in those apps before you start, because unsaved changes in a closed app can be lost.
Windows shows a warning when I run the installer. Why?
New, independent software often shows a SmartScreen prompt until it has built up reputation. Choose "More info" and then "Run anyway" if you downloaded the installer from this site.
