Last updated: 29 October 2026Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Vexto ("Vexto", "we", "us") that governs your use of the Vexto website, accounts and desktop application (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, downloading the software or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are younger than 16 you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use. You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in the place where you live.
2. Your account
To download Vexto you must register an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your sign-in details confidential and to tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Do not share your account, and do not create accounts by automated means. Staff roles are granted by the owner of Vexto to the Google e-mail address of the person concerned. Accounts are created by signing in with your Google account, so you do not choose a password and we rely on Google to have verified your e-mail address. Keep your Google account secure, because anyone who can sign in to it can sign in to your Vexto account. Staff such as administrators, moderators and teachers receive extra permissions that they may use only for the purpose they were given. We may warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these Terms.
3. Licence to use the software
Subject to these Terms, Vexto grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the Vexto desktop application on devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial study and productivity purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Updates we publish are covered by this licence unless they come with separate terms.
4. Restrictions
You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software or the installer, except as the law allows;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent that the law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- remove or alter copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
- use the Service to break the law, infringe the rights of others or harm other people;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, probe or test their vulnerabilities, or interfere with their operation, including by overloading them or by bypassing rate limits and access controls; or
- use the Vexto name, logo or branding in a way that suggests endorsement without our written permission.
5. Focus mode and app locking
Focus mode is a self-control tool that you choose to use. When you start a session with locking enabled, Vexto will close the applications you selected, keep them closed until the timer ends and prevent the Vexto window from being closed. You understand and accept that: closing an application may cause you to lose unsaved work in it, so you must save your work before you begin; Vexto may not be able to close every application, and you remain responsible for how you use your own device; Vexto never closes critical system processes, but you should not select applications that you need for safety, health, work obligations or emergencies; and an emergency exit is available in Settings and you should use it whenever you genuinely need to stop a session early.
You are solely responsible for deciding which applications to lock and for how long. Do not use focus mode on a device or account that you do not own or are not authorised to manage, and do not use it to restrict another person's device.
6. Availability, changes and updates
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, security or other reasons, and we publish downtime notices and known issues on the website. We may add, change or remove features, and we may release updates, at any time. Where practical, we will give notice of significant changes that negatively affect you.
7. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you give us a free, worldwide, perpetual and irrevocable right to use them without any obligation to you. This does not give us any rights in your personal information or any other material you did not intend to share.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including the software, design, text, graphics, the Vexto name and logo, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Vexto or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Third-party components included in the software are licensed under their own terms, which apply to those components.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services and software, for example web fonts delivered by Google Fonts and the open-source components included in the application. We do not control these third parties and we are not responsible for their availability or practices. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information and forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read it.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be free of bugs, viruses or interruptions, that it will meet your requirements, or that it will improve your results. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vexto and its owners, contributors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of unsaved work caused by an application closed during a focus session. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free service, is zero) and fifty euros. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for wilful misconduct.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and compensate Vexto against claims, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service, including your use of focus mode on devices you are not authorised to manage.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and you may delete your account from the Account page. We may suspend or end your access immediately, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use puts the Service or other people at risk. This includes breaking these Terms or the rules in our Privacy Policy, for example by trying to access other people's data or accounts, by abusing the Service or by creating accounts to evade a previous ban. Depending on how serious the breach is, we may issue a warning, suspend the account for a fixed period or until the matter is resolved, or ban it permanently. When a suspended or banned user tries to log in, we show the reason. We may act without prior notice where this is necessary to protect other users, the Service or the law. If you think we made a mistake, you can appeal by writing to support@acrostorm.com with your username, and we will review your appeal in good faith. When your access ends, your licence to use the software ends, and the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including those about intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Vexto is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that country will have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection laws and the right to bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@acrostorm.com so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, give you reasonable notice, such as a banner on the website. If you keep using the Service after the new Terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not accept the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Vexto about the Service. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent, but we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service.
18. Contact
If you have any question about these Terms, contact us at support@acrostorm.com.
